Alexandra Christensen

What is one of your favorite memories?   A 24 hour date, exploring Paris.

Describe yourself in max three words.   A silent steppefire.

What is a sound you love?   The sound of a smile on the phone of a person I miss.

Who was your hero when you were a child?   Walte Disney, Evita, Celin Dion and most important of all my Grandmother.

You are an artist because….  My heart seeks to reach others.

Alexandra Christensen has been a multitasker creative in theatre since 2012. What started out as a dream of becoming an actress changed rapidly once she realized she prefers to commit out of the spotlight and concentrate on working and exploring off stage and back stage. She found her perfect place as stage director, with a flair for the scenic picture, the poetic story and the balance between comedy and tragedy. Alexandra has a strong need to tell honest stories of humanity as both good and bad. She has been director’s assistant at, among others, Teater Grob  (now Blaagårds teater), Folketeatret and Det Kongelige Teater.

Since 2016 she directed her own productions, which led to a close bond with her two creative partners and the creation of Teater Mikado. Teater Mikado was founded in 2018, with the audience-prize winning performance “Til sidste fjer” (The flok) that since has been touring Denmark and still lives on today.Other Mikado performances are “Du finder mig nederst i bunken” performed at Teatret ved Sorte Hest in 2021 and “Tævehjerte” from 2023.
