Hap, unhappy at being happy, visits Doctor Marples in her surgery seeking a cure.  Doctor Marples, herself desperate for happiness, is sceptical of Hap and refuses to see Hap's genuine laughter/joy as an illness – how can anyone be too happy? A brilliant, hilarious and quirky comedy about the modern obsession with happiness.  Despite the crushing events of 2020/21 and all attempts to be a miserablist, HAP and her counterpart find breathlessly and to their surprise, giggles and romance in the most unlikely of places - the therapist’s couch.

Meet Hap. Despite all attempts to be a miserablist she can’t ever be unhappy. Unhappy at being happy, she visits Doctor Marples seeking a cure. Doctor Marples, herself desperate for joy, doesn’t know how to be happy in the first place! Through the ongoing monotony of Brexit, Corona and takeaways-for-one, Hap and her doctor find to their surprise, giggles and romance in the most unlikely of places. This play is one quirky, breathless ride you do not want to miss!
